PIA Acrylic was established through a major partnership between Turkish Işık Plastik, one of the world’s leading industrial sheet manufacturers, and the American company Plaskolite. In December 2021, Işıklar Plastik acquired all of Plaskolite’s shares, making the company a wholly owned subsidiary of Işıklar Plastik. Işıklar Plastik is owned by the Işıklar family, which also holds a majority stake in Işık Plastik, Turkey’s leading producer of thermoplastic and engineering plastic products. In January 2021, Işık Plastik took a step toward its goal of attracting trillions of lira in investments by offering approximately 20% of its shares, which are traded on the Borsa Istanbul, to the public.
Technology of the Future PIA Acrylic is preparing for the technology of the future with this major transformation. The investment technology that brings advanced engineering infrastructure to cast acrylic production was constructed in Malatya. Built on a 28,375 m² site with a $50 million investment, PIA Acrylic is moving toward its 60% export target by increasing its annual production capacity from 7,500 tons to 15,000 tons as of 2022.
SCADA Full Process Management System PIA Acrylic ensures sustainable product quality through its state-of-the-art machinery. The entire production process is managed, controlled, and monitored from start to finish via the SCADA system. Moreover, the technology used is not limited to the production process; PIA Acrylic utilizes the fully integrated real-time ERP system SAP to ensure continuity in the quality chain.
